2.500.000 deep sea moves for RWG

On Wednesday April 17th 2019, container terminal Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) handled the 2.5 millionth deep sea container since the official opening in September 2015.

This two and half millionth container is a container of ONE and was unloaded from the Yang Ming Witness. Ronald Lugthart, CEO of RWG: ”As an organization we are very proud of having achieved this milestone in the short history of RWG. It is a team performance of all people working at RWG and thanks to the trust of all our customers and stakeholders in RWG."

RWG, the world’s most automated and innovative container terminal, plays a key role in efficient, sustainable, reliable and safe container handling. The terminal is running above 90% of its capacity. In cooperation with its customers and stakeholders, RWG will continue to further develop and extend its handling services of all modalities. The focus of RWG is on developing inland concepts, connecting to the Container Exchange Route and the implementation of Nextlogic.
