At RWG, the pre-announcement of visits and containers for barges is done through the Portbase Barge Planning service, as well as the submission of loading and discharge lists. In Portbase, the barge operator can see exactly for which containers the pre-announcement is correct and for which containers this is not the case. Actions can be taken for the containers that have not been pre-announced correctly. Up till now, the loading and discharge lists were sent separately to the department Data Control & Gate (DCG) by email for checking purposes. We have come to the conclusion that pre-announcement through Portbase works sufficiently well that there is no need to send the loading and discharge lists as well.
