As from 1st of July 2016 IMO regulations will apply on ‘weighing of containers’. From that moment on, the VGM (Verified Gross Mass) of all sea-bound containers will have to be known. Transshipment containers loaded before July 1st and transshipped after July 1st will be an exception to this rule. RWG applies a ‘No VGM – No load’ policy as from July 1st 2016. RWG does accept containers without VGM to be stored on the terminal. The VGM will have to be sent to RWG via the final loading list at least 24 hours before ETA vessel. Furthermore, RWG supports the VERMAS message. If no VGM is available, the container will not be loaded onto the vessel. RWG offers its customers a weighing service.
