As from the 1st of October 2016 a ‘No VGM – No Load’ policy will apply on all full export containers, including transhipment containers. As from this date, the VGM (Verified Gross Mass) will have to be known for all sea-bound containers. Since July 1st, RWG already applies a ‘No VGM – No Load’ policy, in accordance with the SOLAS regulations concerning the weighing of containers. Transshipment containers loaded before July 1st and transshipped after July 1st were an exception to this rule. However, as from October 1st the VGM will also have to be known for these containers. RWG accepts containers without VGM to be stored on the terminal. The VGM will have to be sent to RWG via the final loading list at least 24 hours before ETA vessel. Furthermore, RWG supports the VERMAS message. If no VGM is available, the container will not be loaded onto the vessel. RWG offers its customers a weighing service.
