RWG continuously strives to further optimize the logistic handling at its terminal. In this context, RWG will implement a number of changes to the so-called Truck Appointment System in order to further streamline the truck handling process.

  • As of Friday, October 30, two time slots will be added to the RWG truck appointment system on weekdays. The time slot of 05.00 - 06.00 hrs and the time slot 19.00 – 20.00 hrs will be added. The additional time slots are necessary due to the traffic and safety at the RWG terminal. Soon the time slot 04.00 - 05.00 hrs will also be added.
  • From Monday, November 2, the time slots between 12.00 and 20:00 hrs can only be reserved two hours in advance. If the desired time slot is fully occupied or not yet available, the 20.00 hrs time slot will automatically be booked. With this measure, RWG wants to make better use of the utilization of the time slots. The measure will be introduced as a pilot for at least two weeks.

Both measures were taken in consultation with TLN (AZV / VZV) and VERN. In the coming period, RWG will, also in consultation with TLN (AZV / VZV) and VERN, introduce a number of other measures to have a better occupation of the available capacity at the terminal.

However, these measures will not prevent fully booked time slots during peak hours. For this it is imperative that more spread in the supply and delivery of containers by road is needed. RWG is operational 24/7 and uses 100% handling capacity to handle trucks during these times.

The truck visit needs to be pre-announced through the Port Community System of Portbase. More information about the pre-announcement process is available on RWGServices.
